Finfluencer
Trading involves risk. You could lose more than your deposit.
A finfluencer is a social media account that publishes financial commentary or trading content to an audience, and whose posts fall inside financial promotion rules wherever the account is promoting a product.
A description of a channel rather than of a qualification. The term covers accounts that explain markets, accounts that publish positions, and accounts that promote a firm or a product for payment, and nothing in the word distinguishes between them. The distinction that matters is regulatory: advising on financial products, arranging deals in them and promoting them are, in most regimes, activities that require authorisation, and they require it whether the channel is a prospectus or a video.
A communication from or on behalf of a licensed firm is a regulated document and stays one on a social feed, so it carries the same obligations as any other: fair, clear and not misleading, with the required risk warning and without a claim the firm cannot evidence. Several regimes have brought paid promotion by third parties explicitly inside that perimeter, which makes an undisclosed commercial relationship a compliance failure rather than a matter of etiquette.
The structural problem for a reader is that a feed shows what was posted rather than what was traded. A record assembled from posts is a performance claim selected by the person publishing it, and the selection is not random. That is a property of the medium and it operates with no intent to deceive at all, which is why it is treated as a structural limit rather than as an accusation.
